Why are we So Obsessed With The Perfect Pout?

Lip fillers or plumping your pout is now becoming as mainstream as  teeth whitening. While some trends filter in and back  out of our social media feeds, lip fillers are here to stay. Influencers  are defining beauty with their fixation on lip fillers. Thin lips are  becoming a minority.

We are living in the age of the ‘lip job’ where the number of searches for ‘lip fillers’ and ‘lip augmentation’ on Google are exponentially increasing each year on end. Lip filling is the most popular non-surgical, non-invasive cosmetic treatment.

Lip plumping is becoming a popular appointment scheduled into many women’s lunch breaks (when there is no lockdown, of course). As quick as a manicure and perhaps equally as preferred. If you could prioritize one over the other, (lips or nails), lips would most likely come on top.

With 2020 and 2021 seeing us wearing masks outdoors and covering up our lips, do we still feel we are still getting full value out of our treatments? Are more of us skipping top up treatments until masks are no longer mandatory again?

Where there is demand, there will always be supply and as sales for lip filler treatments peak globally for aestheticians in all continents. In fact, recent trends have seen the introduction of the trendy ‘keyhole pout’, which cleverly uses a string placed against the center of the lower lip and bow of the upper lip, whilst the aesthetician administers gel into the lip. The results create a subtle divide, creating a more fuller and sexier pout which is more noticeable than procedures that don’t use this technique.

Every lip filler patient has different requirements. For natural softness, subtle plumpness and improved texture, the most popular sought after filler is Juvederm Volbella ; injected superficially under the mucosa membrane, this lightweight hyaluronic acid gel smooths out dehydrated lips. When injected into the deep dermis, Volbella provides instant fullness and plumping.

Juvederm Ultra 4 ($350) is the most popular lip filler for maximum plumping and longevity. Available as 2 x 1ml, it is the bestseller on our store, and popularly sought after by spas and clinics. Although, it can be used for deep nasolabial folds too, its deep filling action is why many consider it for fuller lip plumping.

Another bestseller award goes to Restylane Kysse (1x1ml) $230, recently approved for FDA approval has been selling like hot cakes, with spas stocking up for this soft filler that gives a super smooth finish with structural support and more thickness.

Luminera Hydryalix Lips ($300) is the most cost-effective lip dermal filler for 2.5ml of gel (2 x 1.25ml). Furthermore popularised by its smooth monophasic and biphasic gel which provides little or no swelling.

The most economic filler which causes little swelling is Saypha Filler 1x1ml ($160) and is popularly used with Hyaluron pens, for patients opting for a needle-less approach.

Foxy Fillers stock and supply a variety of CE certified brands for lip filling.

How is PRX-T33 Different to Traditional Chemical Peels?

PRX-T33 Peel is a no-needle bio-revitalizer developed by Italian scientists in the northern region of Italy – Trieste.

Whilst fillers plump up skin and smooth out lines, PRX-T33 addresses the appearance of the top layer of skin, removing dull surface cells, creating beautiful younger-looking skin. Moreover, it improves fine lines and discolouration.

Quick and pain-free, it costs less than laser treatment to produce the same results, and without any down-time at all.

Suitable for all skin types, it’s worthwhile considering in addition to fillers or as a standalone chemical peel treatment if you don’t want to use fillers. There’s no hard sell here, we believe in buying what’s best for you. Based on customer buying patterns, PRX-T33 Peel was most commonly purchased alongside fillers to complement each other.

One thing is for sure! This product is hugely popular with European and British celebrities who want instant glowing skin – “the secret of the stars” or “the lunch-time peel as it is referred to!

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Blemishes

Where Can I Buy PRX-T33 Peel?

PRX-T33 Peel is available to purchase from our online store Foxy Fillers, currently priced at $360 and shipped in a Styrofoam temperature-sensitive lidded box with an ice pack.

Tighter Brighter Skin!

PRX-T33 acts as an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells, revealing new layers of skin underneath. As we age, skin doesn’t work in the same way it did when we were younger. Skin renewal slows down, resulting in dull lacklustre skin, as old skin cells are not shed as frequently anymore. Whilst in our 20s, we took our automated skin renewal for granted, you can now think of this peel as a trigger to kickstart skin in behaving young again.

It’s not called anti-aging for no reason; accelerating skin renewal with PRX-T33 is truly a godsend for those who are tired of not seeing results with traditional glycolic chemical peels (that leave undesirable side effects such as redness) and branded exfoliators.

The technique somewhat, does require massaging though. After your dermatologist applies a few drops topically, they will massage it into the skin, allowing it to penetrate through the pores. Any remaining residue is wiped clean using water.

How Does PRX-T33 Peel Work?

It’s the key active ingredients that get to work during that massage –

  • Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) – in almost all chemical peels.
  • Hydrogen peroxide (H202) – helps TCA to enter the skin.
  • Kojic acid – acts on pigmentation by suppressing melanin, creating a flawless skin tone.

These 3 key ingredients work in harmony together to penetrate the top layer to begin regeneration.

  1. The top layer of dead skin starts to shed
  2. Triggering living cells underneath to multiply
  3. Which then move up to the surface
  4. Collagen and hyaluronic acid increases
  5. Fine lines fade away
  6. Skin behaves young again

How is PRX-T33 Different to Traditional Chemical Peels?

This is what impressed us the most behind the science of this peel:

The three active ingredients work quickly to penetrate the dermal epidermis (superficial layer of skin) just under the dull dead cells. Thus not aggressively harming the epidermis. Instead, they work on the deeper layers, working from the “Bottom Up”.

The presence of H202 minimises the aggressive action of the TCA.

This is how PRX-T33 Peel is perceived as being less invasive than traditional chemical peels. Think of it as a “no-peel” peel which doesn’t cause painful stinging and redness.

So it gives the same results as a traditional TCA peel without the discomfort and down-time; and can be used at anytime of the year even in the Summer months as there is no reaction with UVA rays (just remember to apply sun-screen).

In summary, its advantages in comparison to traditional TCA peels have been reported as:

  • No redness or stinging
  • No downtime
  • No aggressive peeling of superficial epidermal skin layer
  • Less-invasive
  • Works from bottom up (deep skin layers first)
  • No reaction with UVA rays in Summer months

What is Hip Dip Contouring and How Can It Be Achieved Using Sculptra?

A medical professional who has experience in using Sculptra should always be used.

Sculptra has many uses. Although it has been formulated for improving volume in marionette lines, nasolabial folds, temples, tear troughs and cheek augmentation, it has also been widely used for:

  • Hiding cellulite through sculpting
  • Butt lifts
  • Hip dip contouring

The latter is used by medical professionals to create an hourglass figure, commonly associated with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, whose curves know no bounds!

Hip dip contouring is a cost-effective approach compared to traditional hip implants.

Who Has Hip Dips?

Hip dips are not caused by high body fat (the way thunder thighs are). In fact, people with hardly any body fat most commonly have hip dips, because the dip between the hip and thigh bones becomes more defined when there is low fat volume present.

Using Exercise and Squats to Fill Out Those Hip Dips

Your natural pelvis shape has an impact on how prominent your hip dips are. So, hip dips are a result of our own personal anatomy and bone structure and muscle mass.

Filling those hip dips outwards can be achieved through exercise, specifically if you targets the thighs and buttocks through squats, lunges, and deadlifts. These types of exercise increase muscle mass around this area and as a result, the indent or dip becomes more fuller.

For many individuals, exercise may not work for their anatomy or bone structure type. The increase in muscle from exercising may not be sufficient for achieving the desired curves.

Using Sculptra To Fill Out Hip Dips

Using an injectable like Sculptra is a more proven technique to achieve hip dip contouring more effectively with natural-looking results. Not only does Sculptra fill out the hip curves, it also magically stimulates collagen production. Results are achievable, accurate and easy to control in the specific dip area inputs 2 to 3 treatments, with 8-10 vials required at each session.

A medical professional who has experience in using Sculptra should always be used.

Collagen-stimualting Sculptra, uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to restore lost volume in the face, as well as augment (shape) other areas of the body.

Benefits of Sculptra

  • Non-surgical and minimally invasive, so there is no downtime, allowing you to continue with your normal day to day life.
  • Subtle and effective results: Sculptra builds healthy tissue in the hip dip area.
  • Results show in 3 weeks, with natural results that get better with time as the collagen is stimulated.
  • Limitless contouring is possible
  • Tailor future treatments around current results
  • Create tight firm tissues without any muscle restrictions, unlike implants.
  • Lean taut hip dips with a complete hourglass figure.
  • Long-lasting results that can last for up to 2 years.

5 Beauty Secrets During Lockdown

Now is the time to take care of your skin more than ever before and really use lockdown to your advantage in doing so!

Here’s 10 beauty tips for lockdown, which you may never get another opportunity for.

1. Let Your Skin Breathe – Be Make Up Free

Taking a break from makeup could do wonders for your natural complexion and open up all those pores, so they can finally breathe.

It may take some getting used to at first, but you will get more accustomed to your bare look. Embrace your natural skin tones!

2. Moisturize Religiously

It’s easy to break good habits when you’re not leaving the house to go anywhere, but don’t neglect your skin of moisturizer. Apply your usual moisturizer every morning, religiously without fail.

There are multiple benefits of moisturizing, from improving hydration to decreasing the onset of wrinkles. So keep your skin moist and supple “everyday” during lockdown.

3. Drink Clean Fluids

Everyone is embracing new clean habits during lockdown and ‘change’ is inevitably happening everywhere, in every household. Minimizing processed and artificial ingredients in our pantries is something we now have time to be aware of.

You can buy a bag of limes for the same price, if not cheaper than a bottle of cordial squash. Detox daily with a water infused, chopped and squeezed limes, with added fresh mint.

This concoction is invigorating for your skin deep down to the bottom layers.

4. Screen Your Skin

With lockdown perfectly timed with Spring and Summer, no doubt many of us will be drawn towards the more sunny spots of our homes and gardens. With the slower pace of life that is now upon us, finding our sunglasses, sunscreen and sunhat may feel like an arduous chore.

Make it a priority to always have these three items accessible. The sun’s calming rays can easily sedate us into a state of laziness and skin neglect when it comes to using sunscreen, but don’t let your mind give in.

Each time you sit in the sun with unprotected layers of skin, you are harming your skin’s collagen structure, increasing how quickly wrinkles will start to appear.

5. Pamper Yourself

Korean face masks have really taken off in the last few years. The convenience of a ready made mask soaked in essential nutrients appeals greatly and outweighs the traditional pastes derived from a tube.

The post-softness of your skin as you gently run your fingertips over your cheeks feels comforting and something we should all endeavour to treat ourselves to more!

Gift yourself a ready to apply mask.

Guide To Dermal Fillers: Restylane, Juvederm, Voluma, Sculptra

Dermal fillers have fast become the ideal treatment for people who want basic cosmetic treatment but do not want to go under the knife for it. Considering the safety record that these fillers have, and their proven performance too, it is little wonder they have a lot going for them.

While the ideal dermal filler should be one that can keep its functionality for up to a year, none on the market can promise that for now. Although Restylane is becoming very close with each development cycle, we are still waiting for when that will become a reality.

What Are Dermal Fillers Used For?

Dermal fillers do not refer to a single production line, so there are differences in what parts of the face each and every one of them is meant to address. However, they all perform the same basic function at the end of the day – taking care of those lines and wrinkles that set in to depict aging on the face.

For a more comprehensive list of where the known dermal fillers work on, we have:

  • Nasolabial fold – those lines from the mouth to the nose
  • Melomental fold – the lines from the mouth to the chin
  • Lines occurring above the upper lip and
  • Lines formed on the face due to frowns, among others.

Besides the treatment of lines, though, dermal fillers have found application in other areas too.

For one, they are used to return volume to the cheekbones after they start sinking due to age. This is also important in the fight against face wasting – a condition commonly occurring in HIV patients.

Furthermore, the lips have also started enjoying from the wide application of dermal fillers. Known to supply volume to thinner lips for a fuller feel, the level of safety they bring to this operation make them the ideal pick for many undergoing any of the procedures mentioned above.

Understanding the Common Dermal Fillers on the Market

Many reputable brands in the dermal filler market have made them as accessible to the populace as possible. Thus, the brand names are not lost on you.

What might be a challenge, though, is what is contained inside each of these formulations. You should understand that not all of these dermal fillers come equal – as defined by not only their properties, but what they are best applied to too.

In this section, we will look at some of the readily available options and what you should know about them.

Restylane and Juvéderm

Active Ingredient: Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

HA is one of the sugars naturally found in the skin, helping to keep firmness and plumpness. As aging sets in, the volume of this acid starts depleting – leading to the appearance of lines and wrinkles. That is what Restylane and Juvéderm are there to fight against.

Even though it can be found naturally in humans, the hyaluronic acid used in these products are synthesized in the laboratory. That makes them devoid of any animal products, making it less possible for users to develop allergies when using them.

In fact, they have one of the best – if not the best – safety profiles in the dermal filler market. Of the two options, Juvéderm disproven to cause less puffiness in the injected area after days of use. It is also popular opinion that it is smoother than others.

Barring any differences, both products have been approved for use in the nasolabial fold by the FDA. That said, experienced practitioners apply them to other off-label areas for desirable results.

Perlane and Juvéderm Ultra Plus

Active Ingredient: Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

Although this duo contains the same active ingredient as the one above, their thickness levels are not the same. That is why they are best suited to areas where more volume is needed in – such as a much deeper nasolabial fold.

They will also be the ideal pick for filling volumes in cheeks due to the sheer amount of filler fluid that would be needed for such an operation.

How Long Do These Fillers Take to Work?

The interesting thing about the dermal fillers above is that they start working immediately. Before you leave the appointment, you will have started seeing improvements in your face.

In fact, many patients are always in awe of how good they look just after the procedure. You will have to wait a little while to allow the injection settle into place, though, so the effects will last over the first couple of days after use.

How Long Do These Fillers Last?

If you are going with either of Restylane or Juvéderm, expect the effects to wear off in about 4 – 6 months. Of course, this is the average time – meaning the effects could be shorter or longer for you.

Likewise, the area of the skin treated, as well as the chemistry of your skin, will contribute to how long/ short the injection will last.

On the other hand, Juvéderm Ultra Plus and Perlane are known to last longer: up to 6 – 9 months. That should be expected, given that they are thicker than the others.

How Much Do These Fillers Cost?

The dermal fillers mentioned here are usually sold by the syringe. This ensures you only buy what you need for the procedure at hand.

The short guide below should give you an idea of what you will spend when you go in for a procedure:

  • Nasolabial fold filling (Juvéderm and Restylane)– This procedure usually takes 1 – 2 syringes. For this choice of fillers, prepare to shell out anywhere between $450 – $600 per syringe.
  • Nasolabial fold filling (Juvéderm Ultra Plus and Perlane)– It is already established that these picks are thicker, so they will last longer. That justifies their $500 – $700/ syringe average price range.

Is it Painful to Get the Injections?

It will feel like getting any other injection.

Some practitioners will numb the area with a topical aesthetic about 40 minutes to an hour before the procedure starts, helping to take away the pain from injection. Likewise, numbing the area reduces your chances of developing bruises (since the blood vessels around the area are less active due to constriction).

After the treatment, some practitioners will give you a cold pack to help take care of possible swelling and discomfort.

Are There Maintenance Treatments?

To keep the treated area looking great, you will surely have to go back in for some top-up from time to time. These don’t usually cost as much as the first appointment, and is to ensure you keep your newfound, fresh look.

Your provider should provide you with information on how much you need to come back in, but it usually varies between 1 – 4 time a year after the first treatment.

The number of times you have to go back will be dependent on:

  • The kind of filler used
  • The injected area
  • Your skin

What Side Effects Should I Look Out For?

Side effects are usually very rare with dermal fillers, but they do happen too. While many of them clear up quickly (and on their own), that doesn’t stop you from knowing about them:

  • Swelling– doesn’t last for more than 24 – 72 hours on the average
  • Common injection problems – swelling, reddening of the area, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness
  • Mild bruising– lasts between 2 – 10 days

Best Practices When Using Dermal Fillers

It is always a great idea to stay away from injections of any kind (except as prescribed in ante-natal care) during pregnancy. You should also refrain from using anti-inflammatory drugs (or aspirin) as this will cause bruising/ bleeding at the injection site.

People who have suffered from facial herpes simplex in the past could get an outbreak of cold sores around the mouth after receiving injection too.

The Different Types Of Dermal Fillers & What Makes Them Special

Dermal filers might be equal in what they do, but some are born more equal than others.

When you go in for a cosmetic procedure, ensure the ideal dermal filler is being used on you. By ideal, we mean one that has not only been specially suited to your specific need, but provides the level of softness and kind of longevity you are looking for too.

How about we take a look at some of the most common dermal fillers you could get today?

1. Hyaluronic Acid (HA)

HA owes most of its success to the fact that it is a substance the body produces naturally. It is, thus, extracted and reformulated to make this highly-successful dermal filler. Over the years, it has found a lot of application in cosmetic procedures.

Some of its common use cases today are on:

  • Acne scars
  • Depressions in the cheek
  • Crow’s feet (occurring at the corner of the eyes)
  • Frown lines (around the eyebrows)
  • Lines at the corners of the mouth
  • Smile wrinkles and
  • Facial scars, to mention but a few.

HA has also been tested and trusted effective in redefining lip border as well as curing scars of almost any kind (even from burns). If you go looking, you will find HA packaged and sold as JuvédermRestylane and many other respectable brands.

2. Polylactic Acid (PLA)

Unlike HA above, PLA is not naturally occurring. However, that does nothing to take away from the effectiveness of this dermal filler.

Available and packaged as Sculptra, it works by stimulating your own body to create even more collagen – which are body building proteins important for maintaining the freshness and elasticity of your skin.

This mode of operation defines why the effects of PLA are not as fast as many other dermal fillers. Over time, though, you are sure to see the new glow that this filler has injected into your skin.

If you are going for procedures to:

  • Fix lines from laughing
  • Fill thin lips or
  • Address nasolabial folds of varying depth, this is the pick for you.

3. Calcium Hydroxyl apatite

If you have come across the Radiesse dermal filler before, this is the substance beating at the heart of it.

Calcium hydroxyl apatite is naturally occurring in the human bones, meaning you will not be exposing your body to anything it does not already know about. The deal is bettered in the sense that the substance is synthesized through biological processes. In other words, nether animals nor animal products were used, reducing your chances of getting an allergic reaction.

Over the years, cosmetic surgeons have used this filler to address:

  • Nasolabial folds of varying depths
  • Marionettes and frown lines
  • Lack of fullness in the cheeks, and so much more.

With the promise of a very natural result and little to no side effects to boot, it has one of the longest safety records in the business.

4. Polyalkylimide

The next time you look at Aquamid, know that polyalkylimide is the substance that makes it as effective as it is.

If there is anything to love about this one, it is the fact that it rarely reacts with human tissue. This makes it unnecessary to even perform an allergy test in the first place.

Besides that, though, this dermal filler is also a powerhouse when it comes to:

  • Improving the volume in lips
  • Enhancing cheekbones
  • Boosting the jawline
  • Replacing facial volume lost due to aging
  • Restoring wasted face from HIV medications, among other things.

Another plus point for polyalkylimide is that a single injection can bring with it a lot of volume, representing a great value for the money. Have we mentioned that it can also be removed if need be?

The best choice of dermal fillers for you is based on a number of factors. This can be the kind of procedure you want, how long you want it to last, your medical history and more.

Thus, it is advised that you get in touch with a licensed practitioner before choosing a dermal filler at all.

How Do Juvederm and Stylage Compare?

When it comes to good skin, who do we trust more than the French? Their outstanding world-class anti-aging formulas have been relied upon and used by French women for centuries.

Laboratories Vivacy, with their proud French origin, specialize in innovative skin technology implementing hyaluronic acid. Their next generation formulas are truly tried and tested.

With so many other leading brands available on the market, it’s easy to become overwhelmed with choosing ‘the right one’. After all, it’s a big decision for many women who want to look younger using ‘the very best’ at an affordable rate.

Going with the well known brand is always the easiest option, but trying something just as good could work much more comfortably with your skin. There’s no way of finding out, until you try.

Vivacy Stylage sounds as French as it possibly could and it goes without saying, when we travel to Paris in the Summer, what is it that draws us to the beautiful French culture and brands? Our inner instinct somehow tells us to trust the French because of their natural elegance. They way they speak, the way they hold themselves. It’s not just about beautiful models used for marketing skincare and aesthetic products.

Let’s take a look at the Vivacy Stylage brand of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. There’s S M L and XL. All varying in viscosity to improve fine lines, deep wrinkles and folds. The question that arises a lot, not just with the Vivacy brand, but many others too, is how does it compare to Juvederm?

When you look at the science behind Juvederm, they have high G prime, (this is a measure of the hardness of the gel), with medium to high cohesivity. This makes Juvederm gel smooth and malleable, whilst being able able to resist deformation.

Stylage, on the other hand, also has a unique quality, which is the presence of the anti-oxidant Mannitol. It is this special ingredient that protects against free radical damage deep inside the skin layers. Magically, it also It also increases the stability and life of the hyaluronic acid inside the skin, ensuring it doesn’t break down so quickly. So, thanks to Mannitol, Stylage is also a durable filler.

It doesn’t stop there. It’s anti-oxidative qualities lower the level of swelling and bruising which is often a common symptom witnessed after many aesthetic treatments.

You may have noticed companies like Allergan and Vivacy love using clever names for the technologies they use to formulate their gels. Stylage’s IPN-like Technology means the individual cross-linked matrices transform into a monophasic gel, by undergoing an interpenetrating network-like (IPN-like) process. This increases the density of cross-linking without any additional cross-linking agent.

Juvederm’s Vycross Technologies use a single cross-linking process. Both low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid chains are combined together to form a monophasic, monodensified gel. Whilst many women will be far from interested in the jargon names associated with how fillers are made, all they will want to know is how long they will see faded wrinkles and plumper lips.

Aesthetic practitioners will want to know though. They will make informed decisions about which fillers they will stock based on the different manufacturing methods. As each unique method is responsible for the varying physical attributes of each gel. In turn, contributing to the way the gel integrates with the skin layers.

In summary, we know that Juvederm helps to achieve a cohesive consistency inside the skin tissue, whilst Stylage has a lighter, less dense structure. Both give an even distribution when applied to the area of treatment.

Beating the Fakes: 8 Tips to Always Buying Authentic Dermal Fillers Online

In the past few years, dermal fillers have come to gain a strong stand in the cosmetics market. The reason for this is not far-fetched – if there was anything that worked as well as they did for aesthetics, they would be expected to sell well too.

Just like any other bestselling product, dermal fillers have been plagued by vendors peddling the fake variant.

This is not only a huge concern for manufacturers, legitimate sellers and distributors, but to the end users too. Afterall, there is no telling what could go wrong when you inject a poor substance into your skin.

We have, thus, set up this piece to help you choose the authentic products over the fake ones when shopping online.

1. Get in touch

One of the tell signs of a fake website / ecommerce platform is the lack of contact details. Even if there were, they would not have anyone at the other end.

That is because they were never interested in offering you customer service in the first place, only to rip you off. It is, thus, recommended that you try reaching out first.

If they do not have a solid contact plan in place, or do not reply, that is usually a red flag.

2. Look for product identification

The medical industry has been standardized to the extent that many of the devices and medications come with identification tags. These codes are there to enable easy tracing and tracking of products back to their manufacturers and production lines.

These identifications are not hidden and would always be on the packaging. If you cannot find it there, it doesn’t hurt to ask the seer about it. If the seller still cannot provide it, you will be better off buying from another vendor instead.

3. Location is important

Location is always key, even when you are buying online. Most of the legitimate companies with online outlets have a brick-and-mortar establishment where they can be checked out. If this is true for the online vendor, you usually have nothing to worry about. Likewise, check for where they ship their products from.

4. Compare prices

Everyone wants a good deal, but some deals are just too good to be true. When this happens, it is probably too good to be true. If a dermal filler is being sold for a ridiculously low price, you should not ignore that as a sign.

This is not to say the legit businesses don’t offer steep discounts from time to time. However, the distributors of these products get it from manufacturers within a certain price range (which is usually fixed or varies slightly based on volume of purchase).

That means they will only sell to you (or the vendor) at a certain price too if they will realize their profits. With such changing of hands, the product will end up within a defined price range in the end.

Thus, a discount that is too steep to be true might be a setup – one you should avoid.

5. Social media

A company worth its salt will see the need to have social media accounts. So, do well to check for that vendor on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and such other social media platforms.

Again, it is one thing to have a social media account, and it is yet another to run a functional one. Ensure the company posts regularly and replies to comments from their customers. Trust us when we say an illegitimate company won’t go through all that stress just to stay up.

6. Special features

Manufacturers are aware of counterfeits in the market, and they make moves to curb that. This is the brain behind the addition of concepts like holograms on product packaging, verification codes and so much more.

Another way to go is looking at the details on the product packaging. Many fakes are always made to look like the real thing, but the fault in the little details.

Sometimes, it is in the spellings. At other times, it is in the explanation of features, presentation, etc.

7. Social proof

Social proof is very important to a business, no matter how truly good such a business is.

More than what the company says about itself, what do other people say about it? Look for recommendations online and offline – especially from independent sources who do not have a motivation to lie.

We recommend reading through the negative reviews too as those speak a lot of truth about the company. However, don’t dwell on the negatives unless they make up the huge chunk of customer feedback.

8. Reviews

Before putting your card details onto that online platform, ask if they have reviews from third party websites. All of the credible companies make use of review platforms, such as TrustPilot, Feefo, etc to collect user feedback about their services.

That would help you form a better opinion about not only the product, but the entire company at large.

Shop Right

There might be more fakes out there than you know, but the legitimate vendors are also still out there doing good business. All you have to do is spot one, and you would be set for all your orders from then on.
